From this Medlemsnytt w in the office and the board become a little more personal. We will alternate between who writes a small initial greeting to you members. First is signed, your director.
I tend in any context that I talk about KKV Bohuslän highlight the collective work we do as one of the finest aspects we have, and one of the most important to maintain for our continued success. This means that we as employees and those who sit on the board must be skilled at understanding your wishes and try to realize them. We try to mediate when opinions differ. And that means that you, as members must uphold humility among you. That means simple things, like cleaning up after yourselves in workshops and public areas, and more difficult things, like to transfer responsibility for eg the design of the summer exhibition to the people who have taken on that mission.
Everyone will not always get exactly as they want. But if we manage to preserve and develop the collective spirit so we will all be better off, step by step. It also means that we can take advantage of the great commitment and the great knowledge that the older members have, while we welcome the new, younger members. So: respect each other and think about how you can help.
The summer exhibition promises to be really great this year and I wish you all (and KKV Bohuslän) a success with sales. Together for the Future!
Warm greetings,
Carl Forsberg
Labour Weekend and art hand in May 28th to 29th
28-29 May KKV Bohuslän arrange a cleaning weekend before the summer exhibition. The focus is on the outdoor exhibition space and public areas indoors, but it is obviously good if we have time to clean up in the workshops too. We work 10-16 every day and KKV Bohuslän stands for lunch. Sign up for carl@kkv-b.se so that we can calculate food.
On May 29, we also accept artwork for the summer exhibition. Remember to bring your signed exhibition contracts and the complete works list prices. These documents have been circulated in the previous email. You will find all documents related to the summer exhibition here. Also remember to sign up as an exhibition host. You can do this here.
Regarding the webpage
It is important that you who have planned to be on summer exhibition update your information on the website. Many of our visitors ask questions about the artist who made the work they are interested in. Then it is very convenient for our show hosts may refer to the presentation on our website. On our website you can find a video that explains how to do. Seem complicated? Contact our Director Carl Forsberg to get help.
Right now we have problems with logging on to website from mobile phones and tablets. We are working to resolve the problem. However, it is no problem to read our website from mobile devices, it’s just up the sides can not reach.
We have also started outsourcing protocols back on the website. You can find them here.
Do you exhibit this summer?
If you’re going to be on one or more exhibitions this summer, feel free to tell us about it so we spread it in our major external newsletters with about 1,600 recipients, many in the media, cultural policy and cultural management. We need the following from you:
- Place
- Period
- Link to the presentation of the exhibition (it’s fine to link to their own presentation on our website).
Next external newsletters sent on Wednesday, June 1, so by May 31, you will need to have sent the above to carl@kkv-b.se
Stone crafts training
Grebbestad Folk High School has a new website and now has more information, including course programs and contact information to teachers on the net. There are places left on the course and admission will run during the summer. Please spread the word – it is important for both Grebbestads Folkhögskola and KKV Bohuslän we get driven and dedicated students for the course!
The new building
Efforts to arrange financing for the new building of studio apartments progresses. The latest news is that Thordénstiftelsen granted SEK 90,000 to the project. But more money is needed! Please help spread the word. All information available on G2: 1s website. If you are not already a member of G2: 1 you may of course apply for membership. This increases both revenues and the ability to obtain additional financing.
This summer, G2: 1 will occupy one of the booths in the barracks at the outdoor exhibition to show the building plans and hopefully attract more support for the project.
