Information about this year’s summer exhibition

The Board of KKV Bohuslän has decided on the following dates for this summer’s exhibition:
Date of submission of works and lists: 3 June
Hanging of the exhibition: 5 – 11 June
Administration of labels, price lists, maps: 12 – 16 June
VIP view: June 23
Vernissage: June 25th
Finissage: August 20th

  • More information:
  • June 3 is also a cleaning day at KKV. We need to be many! Start at 10.00.
  • Exhibitors submit a list in two copies, over all submitted works. They are signed and act as receipt at the time of submission, one exet retains KKV-B the other receives the exhibitor.
  • Exhibitors also submit receipts in two ex for each individual work submitted. The receipt must be filled with artist, title, material, price etc. One copy is left to the customer and the other will retain KKV-B.
  • Exhibitors also submit a presentation about themselves on a maximum of one A4. As stored in a binder, both exhibitors and visitors can learn more about the artists that exhibit. No business cards / folders are allowed.
  • Exhibitors will not be allowed to sell postcards. On the other hand, it is free to donate postcards to KKV-B where the proceeds from the sale are invariably going to KKV-B.
  • No books and catalogs for sale this year.
  • The submitted works should be new, not previously shown. Max 2 years old for indoor show, max 5 years old for outdoor exhibition.
  • All works must be clearly marked with artist, title, material, price and equipped with clear and clear suspension solution.
  • Fellowships work periods and exhibition periods: 1st, work 12-25 June, exhibition 25 June-16 July, 2nd, 7 July – 22 July, exhibition 22 July-20 August.
  • All exhibitors must watch for two consecutive days, preferably not with the same person both days. This means that there can be an overlap where information is more easily transferred to the next guards.
  • If there is any exhibitor who needs podium out, they can solve this themselves. This is because the podiums that KKV-B previously disappeared and KKV-B do not have the resources to sponsor exhibitors with podiums they can then bring.
  • Doodle link for guard booking will come.
  • Sold works will be replaced by exhibitors once a week.
  • The exhibitor must be able to handle the card payment system.
  • The emergency exit in the stone room is covered after all works have been completed. New emergency exit will be the new entrance to the Little Gallery or the old entrance in Stensalen.
  • Keep in mind the location of exhibition hosts as the new doors in the Lilla Gallery should act as main entrance.

Deputy for Linnéa

Due to health problems, we are now looking for a deputy for our clerk Linnéa Törnros. Please share the information in your network! Those who are interested can get a job description with the necessary qualifications from the office.

Farewell!

It is with heavy heart I now announce that I will finish KKV Bohuslän this summer. The reason is mainly that I do not feel that I can do a good job on just one day of the week and that my commitment here becomes too fragmentary to my second job in Strömstad. My contract expires on 30 June and it will also be my last working day here.
I have been working here for three years and I want to say that we have accomplished a lot together. Our annual contribution from the region has been raised from 400,000 to 500,000 kr. We have received a new digital department with large format printers, a stone education from Grebbestad, a new digital booking system, and in September we will finally take the first step to the long-awaited new building.
All of these changes have not gone painlessly. At times, the waves of debate have gone high and, as a manager, I have often found myself in the midst of disagreements. It has meant a cost, both for me personally, but also for the board. Nevertheless, I am convinced that KKV Bohuslän is now better prepared for the future than if these changes had not been made. Yes, I even want to say that KKV Bohuslän is meeting a brilliant future, even though it may feel a bit shaky at the moment. If I dare to give you some advice for this bright future, they would look like this:

    • Give the board space to work. It is about both confidence and finances. You have an organization with four employees, 2.5 million in turnover and 350 (sometimes quite demanding) members. Then it’s no longer possible to work for free.
    • Make use of membership in international networks. We are already members of the Sculpture Network. As soon as the new building is ready, join transartists.org (please check it later – it’s interesting to you as artists!). Maybe also Trans Europe Halles?
    • Add power and dedication to developing Café Olivia. With a professional contractor, KKV Bohuslän can be developed into an even more attractive meeting place.

My commitment to KKV Bohuslän is still strong. I live nearby, I will monitor questions that are interesting to you in the Västra Götaland Cultural Council and I will in a few different ways seek cooperation with you from the basis of my assignment for Strömstad Municipality. We will continue to see each other, but unfortunately no longer with me as your employee.

Thank you very much for these years!
